So, this post is a bit different to my normal outfit posts but I just wanted to try something new rather than you seeing what I wear all the time (which you may become bored of). A few weeks ago I went to a Zumba class with other bloggers for Sure Maximum Protection deodorant. It was lots of fun. The idea was we had to wear the deodorant and a grey t-shirt to a Zumba class to see the results. I have to say, the deodorant is very good. Lovely smell and is much creamier than normal deodorant. Bit more expensive than most but lasts longer. The lovely people from Thinkhouse PR were also there and Fiona had a pair of cracking earrings on from Forever 21. I had to pop into Forever 21 to check them out, so thank you Fiona! Their accessories are amazing with lots of different styles and very reasonably priced so you could have a new outfit without breaking the bank. I bought a few myself of course.
I won't be able to post to the blog for a few days but will be back with my first GIVEAWAY soon so keep an eye out for that.

Track of the Day: The XX - Teardrops
I've been listening to The XX lately as I'll be seeing them soon. You may/may not have heard their version of this Womack & Womack track.
Hope you're enjoying the start of summer.

When We Fade Away

Pin It Now!

Top - Penneys
Jeans - Topshop
Shoes - Ebay
Scarf - Swop night (from Sarah I think)

I have a confession to make - this is an outfit from a few days ago.  The outfit I had on today actually didn't work at all so I didn't want to post it! It sounds ok - a grey pleated skirt from Zara with a navy tshirt and denim jacket. But, it wasn't. So, I know this isn't today's outfit but I wanted to post something. I got this scarf from my friend Natasha's swop night and I love it. I love the colours with the navy blouse underneath.

Here's some other pictures which I did take today in the sunshine.

This little guy was singing his heart out in his nest. Hope you can see him, he's very well camouflaged.

Track of the Day: Those Dancing Days - When We Fade Away
I heard this band a few years ago. I'm sure someone played a song for me by them and I've been hooked ever since.

Hope you had a nice day in the sun.

The Seed

Pin It Now!

Blazer - Swopshop night
Top - Zara
Jeans - Awear
Shoes - Penneys
Bag - Fiorelli (TK Maxx)

The sun finally came out today and it was glorious! I hope you got to spend some time out in it. Typically it would have to happen at the beginning of the week. So, I had to spend the day in work looking out at the sun through the window. I spent all of Sunday putting away my winter clothes and getting summer clothes out. I feel like I have a whole new wardrobe and now all I need is consistent warm weather (17 degrees and higher will do) to wear them. The only problem is they're all creased so I have to iron them all. This outfit is from clothes that weren't in the attic. The jeans are as colourful as I go - I know they're still pretty muted but they're quite summery I think?

Track of the Day: The Roots - The Seed

A friend of mine, Dan, played this track for me last year so I'm quite new to The Roots but I can't stop listening to it. Love the beat and when the change comes in (or whatever you call it), it feels really floaty. The lyrics are pretty rude but I just love the beat (that sounds stupid when you say it out loud!). Feels perfect for the start of the summer (it was hard to pick a track as there are so many good "summer" tracks). What's yours?

Have a great week.
Oh, I'll be doing my first "giveaway" soon so keep an eye out for it...

NCAD Fashion Show Launch

Pin It Now!

Dress - Zara
Boots - Mango
Belt - Off a dress from Penneys

I wore this dress to the NCAD 2012 Fashion Show launch last night (hence the title of today's blog) where I met some of the fashion designers who are about to graduate. Most of the ones I spoke to seemed so young and all heading off to London and Paris to intern with desigers for the summer. I was very jealous (of their upcoming summer adventure but also because at 22 they were all so confident in knowing what they wanted to do). When I graduated many many years ago all I knew was that I needed a job! It's amazing to think one day some of these young designers will be as famous as Philip Treacy, Orla Kiely, etc...Some of their designs were on display too.

Track of the Day: The Gossip - Get a Job
New album out, new song. I think the song fits the night that was in it.  I just love Beth Ditto. I can imagine her in this last design. The new album sounds very different to their other stuff. This song is the stand out one for me at the moment but I only just bought the album last night so no doubt will discover some more gems on it.

Have a great weekend!

Dogs Eyes

Pin It Now!

Skirt - Topshop
Blazer - Swopshop night
Scarf - South Africa
Shoes - River Island

I hope you're all having a great week...it seems to be going by very quickly and we're already halfway through May.
The sun finally came out and stayed out and it's been glorious! I'm taking the plunge and going into the attic to take down my summer clothes tonight - I'm excited. I am tired of winter attire now and want to start wearing cotton trousers and shoes with no socks/tights. Are you guys in your summer outfits yet?
I got this skirt years ago in Topshop. I love the length and the colour. You probably know by now I'm not much of a bright colour fan!

My bf's mom very kindly brought this cute bag home for me from her trip to Miami. I can't wait to use it. It's very cute.

Track of the Day: Wye Oak - Dogs Eyes
One of my dream jobs (there are many) would be to be the person who picks the soundtracks to movies. I could imagine this Wye Oak track would be the closing song to a movie about a relationship between two people in love but knowing their relationship isn't right.  This song would start just as the couple say goodbye after breaking up...but knowing it was the right decision and a brand new beginning for them. Or something like that...
The more I listen to Wye Oak the more I like them. Her voice on this track reminds me alot of Beth Orton. Some of the other tracks are quite dark. It's a record I don't get tired of listening to as each song is very different.

Hey Man (Now You're Really Living)

Pin It Now!

Jeans - Awear
Top - H&M
Shoes - New Look
Cardigan - Penneys

This is a look I wore over the weekend. The sun finally came out and it was lovely and warm. I really hope this is the start of our summer although I'm looking out the window and it's gone very dark and grey again. It's been so nice to be out of a winter coat for once...takes a much shorter time to get dressed too!
I had a really nice weekend - my friend's hen party, my boyfriend's niece's first birthday party and some windsurfing (may as well get some use out of this windy weather). After two lessons it's finally clicked I think. We're very lucky we have somewhere close by to do it.
I really hope this week is a good one and a sunny one. That way I'll just sit on my balcony and catch up on my reading. I bought this big hat from Penney's so I'm hoping I'll get an excuse to wear it!

Hope you all had a lovely weekend & here's to a great week!
I started listening to Eels again last year. I was looking for new music for the summer and dug out one of their albums. I always listen to it when the sun comes out. Maybe you'll like it too.

The Only Place

Pin It Now!

Jeans, Blouse - Topshop
Coat - H&M
Scarf - Penneys
Boots - New Look

I don't think you can see it too clearly but these jeans are my navy ones from Topshop. They're "Leigh Skinny" and they're the best jeans I've ever bought. Really stretchy and you get a good few wears out of them before they "knee". Plus they do them in ankle grazer length which means they're just above my ankle. Perfect length.
I'm really glad I got this jacket - it's serving me well in this horrible cold weather we've been having as it's warmer than a mac but not as warm as my winter coats.
Don't you love scarves! I don't wear this one too much but I think it works well with the camel coat. It's got greens in it too which you can't really see.

Track of the Day: Best Coast - The Only Place

I'm really lucky in work because I get to listen to the radio and because I've been there the longest I get to pick which station we listen to. It was Lyric FM for a while until my colleagues kept changing it to more upbeat stations. So, we agreed on Phantom FM.  This track is being played daily and I love it. They remind me of bands I used to listen to years ago like BangsFrumpiesSubdebs and The Moves (must dig those records out...)

GO!

Pin It Now!

Jeans - Awear
Cardigan - Topshop
Top - River Island

I feel quite colourful in this outfit. The weather is still all over the place and when the sun comes out it's really bright. So I end up putting clothes on and taking them off once I leave the house because I'm either too warm or too cold. These jeans are not my usual dark blue but I think they'll be nice and light for summer. They're quite tight but stretchy and they're a really nice fit. They remind me of jeans I had years ago...which I think I got my mom to take in as there were no such thing as skinny jeans back when I was a teenager.
I took my dog Penny for a walk today (hence the trainers) and just managed to miss the rain.

Track of the Day: Santigold - GO!
I've just started listening to her new album and this track is my favourite. The rest of the tracks aren't as fast as this. It reminds me alot of Le Tigre. It'll make you wanna dance! Check out her awesome dancers
I've just noticed she's playing Dublin on 1st June - go see her. She puts on a brilliant live show.
